When I switched from Nintendo to Playstation for the first time, I said I was going to the dark side. And when it came to Gamecube vs. PS2, I think I made the right choice in retrospect.
I own a PS3, but never really played many games on it, and the fight over PS4 vs. XboxOne may as well have been a fight against Corporate Pears vs. Evil Corporate Pears--as in, more of a fight of company policy than over two black eerily similar boxes that basically do the exact same thing with similar amounts of horse power. I started looking for other options.
On that note, I needed a new laptop--but I opted to get one with a higher GPU and use it for both work/TV/AND gaming. A Nvidia GT 740M, isn't the most powerful card of all time, but it can play Saints Row IV at 60 fps, plus Steam is AMAZING. The sales are incredible and tickle my shopping addition in just the right way. Every week, humble bundle literally gives away a month worth of games, and worse case scenario, Amazon allows digital downloads of games at full retail price (so I don't even have to wait for shipping).
So I'm foregoing a PS4 (which I think, policy-wise, beats an XboxOne) to enter the world of PC gaming, ie the New Dark Side. Crap. Maybe I should be a new PC controller. Argh... I'm going to bankrupt myself.
